Hats are Haute

From Marc Jacobs' runway to The Sartorialist, hats are topping off fashion's most alluring outfits. Pull the brim low and embrace your mysterious side. If you are feeling particularly confident, add a punchy 40's inspired red lip. The amazing transformation that happens when a woman puts on a good hat is remarkable! Instant chic.


Same girl in both photos, from The Sartorialist. I adore how she's wearing different hats, but in the same quirky, jaunty and humorous manner. Isabella Blow would be proud to see a real woman wearing a hat that is more avant garde than the usual newsboy.


Isabella Blow's eccentric style quickly set her apart from the rest, catapulting her to success as a fashion director at Vogue and Tatler. Her unusual style and penchant for Phillip Treacy hats made her into a style icon. Her recent suicide may have influenced this season's fashion designers, as such creations were a staple on the FW 07.08 runways.
